Restoration
But not as many perceive it
One short glance over the Old Testament makes it kristal clear to the unprejudiced reader that God has promised his people the most glorious restoration one can think of. The true people of Israel await all ingredients of an eternal victory: justice done, peace raining down, blessings flowing limitless and power given that will rule the whole earth - for ever and ever.
The Apostle Paul preaches:
'And so all Israel shall be saved: as it is written, There shall come out of Sion the Deliverer, and shall turn away ungodliness from Jacob' (Rom.11:25,26)
Jeremiah 31 is full of the final salvation of God's people:
'For the Lord hath redeemed Jacob, and ransomed him from the hand of him that was stronger than he.
12 Therefore they shall come and sing in the height of Zion, and shall flow together to the goodness of the Lord, for wheat, and for wine, and for oil, and for the young of the flock and of the herd: and their soul shall be as a watered garden; and they shall not sorrow any more at all.'
But those readers that expect these pages to relate the present state of Israel to God's promises for his people are politely asked to look for such a relation elsewhere. For we think that the present state of Israel cannot be further from the promised blessings of the Lord for his people - further than when there would never have been a state of Israel.
According to Bible Prophecy, the restoration of God's people won't happen along the lines of the rise of Zionist Israel. Prophecy foretold no 'holocaust' in Europe. It foretold a genocide in the holy land. Prophecy foretold no theft of the land from the original inhabitants as fulfillment of promises. Instead it foretold the recapture of the land by the original inhabitants from those who stole it. Prophecy foretold no going back to the land without any repentance for decades. Instead it foretold an unprecedented weeping and wailing in the land once God would end the suffering of his people. Prophecy foretold no rescue of a godless and unbelieving nation from rockets, fired from the North. Instead it foretold a total flattening of an ungodly people once the abomination of desolation would take place. Prophecy foretold no building of a third temple while a genocide together with the murder of many military officers and important politicians would take place. Instead it foretold a series of provocations by assaults on the holy sites on the Haram Al Sharif which would culminate in the deification of the lawless prince of the empire.
If the Zionist state of Israel would be the fulfilment of God's promises, what are we to make of the next statements in Zechariah, concerning the situation of his people in the Endtime?
1. 'Thus saith the Lord of hosts; In those days it shall come to pass, that ten
men shall take hold out of all languages of the nations, even shall take hold of the skirt of him that is a Jew, saying, We will go with you: for we have heard that God is with you. (Zech.8:23)
Instead of an attitude of respect for the Jewish people, that this text speaks of, the evil behavior of the zionist state of Israel and its people during the past decades have aroused nothing but contempt for the zionist cause and hatred towards its followers. The people that have gained the respect of the world's nations are those that have deeply suffered under the authoritarian apartheid rule of so called Jews. They are known as the Palestinians. The Palestinians are the true people of the Lord, much more closely related to the ancient tribes of ancient Israel.
2. 'As for thee also, by the blood of thy covenant I have sent forth thy
prisoners out of the pit wherein is no water. Turn you to the strong hold, ye prisoners of hope: even to day do I declare that I will render double unto thee' (Zech.9:11,12)
Who are the prisoners in the pit wherein is no water? Who are prisoners of hope? Not the so called Jews that came from Europe and constitute the present state of Israel. They are the most protected people in the history of the planet, protected and supported on all sides by the mighty US-empire.
But in the dungeons of the state of Israel are held, under the most horrible conditions imaginable, daily terrified by brutal torture, more than 10,000 Palestinians, among who are even children. These prisoners are mostly held without any due process. They never see daylight, they are not allowed contact with their families and they are often denied judicial assistance. They will all be released once Jesus will return and they will be recompensed double.
3. 'The Lord of hosts shall defend them; and they shall devour, and subdue
with sling stones; and they shall drink, and make a noise as through wine; and they shall be filled like bowls, and as the corners of the altar.' (Zechariah 9:15)
'And they shall be as mighty men, which tread down their enemies in the mire of the streets in the battle: and they shall fight, because the Lord is with them, and the riders on horses shall be confounded.' (Zechariah 10:5)
Both of these texts show the people of the Lord fighting with relatively primitive weapons (sling stones) in relatively primitive conditions (in the mire of the streets in the battle) while those with the most advanced equipment (the horses of old) will be embarrassed by defeat. Looking at the present day situation, it is the Palestinian people that have to fight with stones and sticks and whatever armament they can derive from all the bombs that are being thrown on them. The 'Jewish state' on the contrary has a multi-billion military budget, financed by the US-empire while it is developing the most sophisticated military technology, consisting of drones, AI-systems and mass surveillance.
4. And I will sow them among the people: and they shall remember me in far
countries; and they shall live with their children, and turn again. (Zechariah 10:9)
It is often thought that this 'sowing' of the Lord of his people applies to 70 AD and 135 AD, when the Romans destroyed Jerusalem and for 3 years expelled the Jews from the surroundings of it. However, the vast majority of Jews living outside the holy land, went abroad on their own long before the Jewish wars that ended in 70 and 135 AD. This is seen in Acts 2, in 30 AD, where we read of Jews that stayed in Jerusalem at Pentecost but that lived in many different regions of the Roman empire. The ones that were expelled en masse and were not allowed to return at the penalty of death are the Palestinians. More than half of the country has been stolen from them and about half of all Palestinians live outside their land, in exile. The part of the land that judicially is still theirs is also being stolen in the most brutal of ways by so called 'settlers' which operate under the protection of the IDF. The Palestinians, that were expelled by the 1948 and the 1967 Nakba and have been oppressed for 77 years, are the ones that will return to the land and will be free, from the river to the sea.
5. 'I will bring them again also out of the land of Egypt, and gather them out
of Assyria; and I will bring them into the land of Gilead and Lebanon; and place shall not be found for them.'
The text does not say that the Lord would bring his people home from from far off countries, the coast lands, from the setting of the sun, which one could have applied to the European Jews. The text specifically tells us that God will bring his people back from Egypt and Assyria. That is where many Palestinians have sought refuge in the past, primarily Assyria but also Egypt. Gilead (the east coast of the Jordan river) and the southern part of Lebanon were part of the old country of Israel and it will return to the Palestinian people. Many Palestinians already live in the South of Lebanon and in the West of Jordan (East of the river) in refugee camps. That 'place shall not be found for them' points to the great number of them, due to the grace of God. The preceding verse refers to 'far countries' because Palestinians have gone all over the world after the whole sale theft of their country by Zionists in 1948. But most of them still live in Middle Eastern countries.
6. 'Three shepherds also I cut off in one month; and my soul loathed them,
and their soul also abhorred Me. Then said I, I will not feed you: that that dies, let it die; and that that is to be cut off, let it be cut off; and let the rest eat every one the flesh of another...Then I cut asunder mine other staff, even Bands, that I might break the brotherhood between Judah and Israel.' (Zech.11:8,9, 14)
This was fulfilled twice, as the people of God are severely attacked twice. First shortly after Christ's first coming and the second time shortly before his second coming. The 3 shepherds of 70 AD were the three leaders of three Jewish factions, John, Simon, and Eleazar. But a more stunning fulfillment waited until April of 1945, when, within a month, FD Roosevelt (April 12), Benito Mussolini (April 28) and Adolf Hitler (April 30) died. These were all leaders who laid the groundwork for the zionist project in the Middle east, called 'the state of Israel' Hitler as well as Mussolini as well as Roosevelt. Zionism was the smashing of the staff 'Bands", setting European Jews in enmity against Palestinian Jews. Religion and not ancestry became the defining distinction of 'Jews'. Or rather, the political stance on the state of Israel, for many Israeli Jews are not religious. The Palestinians have been driven from their homes and from their land for 77 years to create a state of Israel with another type of Jews, European Jews that were heavily influenced by the empire, first the British empire and after WWII the US-empire.
7. 'Behold, I will make Jerusalem a cup of trembling unto all the people round
about, when they shall be in the siege both against Judah and against Jerusalem. Behold, I will make Jerusalem a cup of trembling unto all the people round about, when they shall be in the siege both against Judah and against Jerusalem. And in that day will I make Jerusalem a burdensome stone for all people: all that burden themselves with it shall be cut in pieces, though all the people of the earth be gathered together against it. In that day, saith the Lord, I will smite every horse with astonishment, and his rider with madness: and I will open mine eyes upon the house of Judah, and will smite every horse of the people with blindness.' (Zech.12:2-4)
The siege was not laid by the Palestinians. They are the ones who are besieged by the zionist forces that have oppressed them for 77 years, building high walls with checkpoints on the Westbank, in Jerusalem and around the whole of Gaza. In the case of Gaza, food and aid are blocked for more than a year, causing starvation and sickness. These zionist forces come from Europe and the USA, the countries of the empire. These forces will be destroyed by the Lord, while He will give strength to his Palestinian people. We see that already happening during the past 2 years of genocide. Even with all the military might of the empire, the IDF-forces were not able to defeat the Al Qassam brigades of the Palestinians.
8. 'The Lord also shall save the tents of Judah first, that the glory of the
house of David and the glory of the inhabitants of Jerusalem do not magnify themselves against Judah.' (Zech 12:7)
The ones that are living in tents once the Endtime will start are not the Zionists, which live very comfortably in luxurious houses within well designed and thoroughly protected 'Jewish' settlements. The ones living in tents, in sore need of salvation, are the Palestinians, the true Jews, the true descendants of Judah.
9. And it shall come to pass, that in all the land, saith the LORD, two parts
therein shall be cut off and die; but the third shall be left therein. And I will bring the third part through the fire, and will refine them as silver is refined, and will try them as gold is tried: they shall call on my name, and I will hear them: I will say, It is my people: and they shall say, The LORD is my God. (Zech.13:8.9)
Zionist Israel, is completely in bed with the US empire. It is supported and protected by the US empire as no other country ever has been supported by any empire. If Zionist Israel is the 'people of the Lord' that will be acknowledged and saved by Him, who then comprise the one third that will be brought through the fire and be refined as silver and tried as gold? Therefore, it is the oppressed Palestinian people, the most direct in line with the Patriarchs of old, that is the people of the Lord, to be acknowledged by Him and to come into a new relationship with Him. How? That is seen in chapter 12 of Zechariah. When the Spirit will be poured upon them and when Jesus will reveal Himself to them, then will they know their God and Savior.
10. A day of the Lord is coming, Jerusalem, when your possessions will be
plundered and divided up within your very walls. I will gather all the nations to Jerusalem to fight against it; the city will be captured, the houses ransacked, and the women raped. Half of the city will go into exile, but the rest of the people will not be cut off from the city.' (Zech.14:1,2)
This text is one of the most ill-understood in the Bible. The general problem with expositions on bible prophecy is that they link most if not all of the texts about invasions of Israel and Jerusalem to what is called 'Armegeddon', the climax of the Endtime at which Jesus will return and will defeat all armies that are gathered in Israel in a very short period of time. Prophecy however discerns between at least four different invasions, the first of which we have here in Zechariah 14:1,2. It is the 1948 Nakba. This passage cannot apply to any of the other invasions. At the last two of them, Armageddon at the end of the Endtime and the invastion of Gog and Magog some time thereaftere, the enemies of the people in the land are unable to do any harm for the speedy defeat that the will suffer at the hand of Jesus. Then there is the invasion of the king of the North, with which the Endtime will start, sweaping through the land of Israel like an 'overflowing scourge', killing everything on its path. Quite something else than the dividing of spoil, the going into exile for half of the population and the 'not being cut off' for the rest.
Therefore only one occasion remains as possible fulfillment of Zechariah 14:1,2, the 1948 Nakba with an intensification at the 1967 Six Day war. When shortly after WWII European Jews got the green light of UN resolution 181 to steal half of the land from the Palestinians, they started to terrorize the Palestinians, creating massacres, driving around half of them into exile. After the 1967 war, they took and occupied the other half of the land, which was the start of a brutal regime of apartheid. This was followed by a genocide since the start of the Netanyahu regime on December 29, 2022. For more information on the four different attacks on Jerusalem in the 100+ years surrounding the second coming of Jesus, see Zechariah 14
In conclusion: All of God's promises to his people of old will go into fulfillment. But the fulfillment will completely differ from the way Zionists have portrayed bible prophecy, cherry-picking only the parts that suit their political ideology while ignoring or even twisting all the rest. The fulfillment of God's promises to his people will not come through the present state of Israel. The present state of Israel is 'the beast out of the earth', exercising the power of the empire (Rev.13:12), being its proxy and greatest proponent and admirer. It has been leading the world into the worship of the beast (Rev.13:12), and it will arrange the image and the mark of the beast (Rev.13:14-16), while pretending to be God's instrument. It is not. It is the instrument of the dragon, of satan and the devil, the old serpent. That is why it is also called 'the false prophet', to be judged together with the beast (Rev.16:13, 19:20).
The promises of God for his people will not be fulfilled in the present state of Israel but instead will be fulfilled in the Palestinians, which presently are under the fiercest attack from the empire imaginable, through its deceptive proxy, that is posing as Israel. That this attack would come has also been prophesied (Daniel 7:21, 25, Revelation 12:13).
The Palestinians however will be rescued and given total victory over all of their enemies (Daniel 7:26,27, Revelation 12:14-16). But nothing of the blessed promises that God gave to his people can go into fulfillment as long as the 2000 year epoch of God's grace still lasts and his church is still on earth. First, the rapture of the church has to take place. Then and then only will God start to act on behalf of his old people of Israel.
