Why this website is made
This website 'EndtimeSoon' is made because we expect that the end of history as we know it is very near. Our world is changing at a pace that is getting faster with each year. Many people do no longer recognize the world they live in. They suspect that great changes were set in motion from somewhere far above them. They experience that the ordinary pubic has no say in the reshaping of the world.
The world history of past 250 years and how it would end has been foretold long ago, in the Bible. Jesus Himself has warned us for such a time as we live in and much more for the time that is coming. The approaching endtime, we define as the last 3.5 years before the return of Jesus. The Bible calls it 'the great tribulation'. In the last book of the Bible, Jesus gives us a very detailed report of the last years, ending with his coming. It is called the book of Revelation, because He Himself will be revealed to the whole world. 'Every eye will see Him'
Besides a detailed description of 'the Endtime', the book also gives God's perspective on human history as a whole. In this website, we hope to show people God's historic view as well as the details of his plan for the great finale.
We hope and pray that this website will be a support to those feeling lost in the darkness of the last period of 'this world'. Never forget the most important words for the Endtime, words of Jesus Himself: 'but the one who stands firm to the end will be saved'
The magnificent beauty of this salvation will by far exceed the most troubling of experiences, even death. Death has no final word. Only God has. Jesus has conquered death and He will raise all the dead from their graves. We pray that all those who put their trust in Jesus Christ will reach the eternal salvation, which He has prepared for those believing in Him.
Why another Endtime site, while so many exist?
Bible prophecy is one of the most difficult subjects to understand. First, is is the word of God about things to happen, which should make us humble in our studies of it. We can somehow never really 'master' it, until the events have passed and we can see it 'from behind'. It is as God said to Moses: 'thou shalt see my back parts: but my face shall not be seen' (Ex.33:23). Second, Bible prophecy often uses a few sentences to describe a development that takes thousands of years. It is written from God's perspective for Whom 'thousand years are as one day' (2 Peter 3:8). For small people as we are, it is difficult to discern the path of God through history. Our view on history is like the view of an ant on the mountain amidst the blades of grass. Third, Bible prophecy is written in language of 2000 years ago and older. The enormous rise in technology of the past century was difficult to describe in that old language which makes it hard for us to pinpoint the exact meaning. Fourth, Bible prophecy did not come to man in one orderly report. It is scattered all over the Bible from the book of Genesis until the book of Revelation, written by about 40 different writers over a period of about 1500 years, who came from very different layers of society.
While Bible prophecy is so difficult to manage, it is not surprising that many different explanations of it exist. How are we to discern which are true and which are false? There are at least two criteria which any explanation should meet.
(1) All prophetic information in the Bible should fit into the specific explanation without any contradictions. In that way, Bible prophecy itself decides which explanation is right and which one is wrong. This is what Peter meant when he wrote: 'Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation. For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost.' (2 Pt 1:20,21). It is the Spirit of God that gave us prophecy and God never contradicts Himself. Therefore, each explanation must be in line with all of Bible prophecy.
(2) The parts of prophecy of which is stated that it already has been fulfilled should fully match with the accounts of history. For God is very precise and everything He foretold will exactly happen as He said it. Every explanation of Bible prophecy that does not fully match with history is false and should be deserted.
After 40 years of studying Bible prophecy, we found that not one specific explanation of it, which we have seen, has been fully correct. Either the first criterium is not met or the second or both. Much of this has to do with the four reasons that make Bible prophecy the most difficult of subjects. Any shallow reading of it or lack of knowledge of the complete prophetic data is somehow penalized with a wrong explanation. That is why we took it upon ourselves to make this website, seeing that the time of fulfillment of the most frightening part of Bible prophecy has come very near.
This is not to say that we are fully correct. We still could have blind spots for certain parts of Bible prophecy or for our explanation not matching the two important criteria. Therefore, we ask anyone with funded criticism to leave a reaction.
Why does God allow the distress of the Endtime?
The Endtime is a period of enormous suffering for billions of people. Why? It is the age-old question about the purpose of suffering. Is there any purpose?
Yes there is. It is for God to illustrate that man is not able to save himself. Man is in need of a Savior. That Savior has come in the Person of Jesus. Jesus not only shared in our human suffering. He experienced a suffering, infinitely more severe than any human being will ever experience. He could endure it because besides Son of man, He is Son of God. God wants man to look up to this Savior and to accept this Savior, that He gave. And it is not amidst the pleasures of life but amidst the sufferings that impenetrable hearts are opened. Therefore the Endtime will see more people turning to Christ than the ages that ran up to it.
